Day 01 – Arrival in Kolkata – Colonial Heritage Introduction

Arrival at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata. After a traditional welcome by our representative, transfer to your centrally located heritage hotel.


Kolkata, formerly known as Calcutta, was the capital of British India until 1911 and remains the cultural heart of eastern India.

In the afternoon begin an introductory sightseeing tour of the colonial district including a drive past the iconic Howrah Bridge and a walk around the grand gardens of the majestic Victoria Memorial, one of the finest examples of Indo-British architecture.

Continue to the impressive St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Maidan area, often referred to as the “lungs of the city”.

Day 02 – Kolkata Cultural Immersion

After breakfast begin a comprehensive cultural exploration of Kolkata.

Start early at the colorful flower market near the Hooghly River, one of the largest in Asia, where thousands of marigold garlands are traded every morning. Proceed to Kumartuli, the famous artisan quarter where sculptors craft clay idols for festivals such as Durga Puja.


Continue to visit the headquarters of the Missionaries of Charity, the Mother House, where the tomb of Mother Teresa is located.

Later visit the historic Dakshineswar Kali Temple situated on the banks of the Hooghly River.

The afternoon includes a walk through College Street, home to India’s largest second-hand book market and historic intellectual cafés.

Day 03 – Kolkata to Bhubaneswar by Train

Day 04 – Bhubaneswar – Konark – Puri
